IFLA Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Section Division of Collections and Services
Session theme: Global resource sharing across borders: crossing geographical, language and conceptual boundaries in interlibrary loan and document delivery services.
The IFLA Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Section invites librarians and other interested parties working in the field of Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery and Resource Sharing to submit proposals for papers in the 2-hour open session in Quebec.
Interlending, document delivery and resource sharing are library services that have crossed traditional boundaries and borders for many years. In keeping with the theme of the 74th World Library and Information Congress, « Libraries without borders: navigating toward
global understanding, », we invite papers that showcase:
· successful cross-border cooperation (international, geographical, language – for example – cooperative cross-border agreements between Brazil, Angola and Portugal to share content in the Portuguese language; international consortia, etc.),
· or demonstrate how traditional boundaries and paradigms have been transcended through innovative interlending, document supply and resource sharing initiatives. (for example, home delivery)
Please send a detailed abstract (1 page or at least 300 words) of the proposed paper (which must not have been published elsewhere) and relevant biographical information of the author(s)/presenter(s) by 31 January 2008 by email to:

Successful proposals will be identified by 20 February 2008. Full papers will be due by 15 May 2008. Papers should be no longer than 20 pages and 15-20 minutes will be allowed for a summary delivery of the paper during the Section’s open programme in Quebec.
